In recent years there has been a huge resurgence in the surfing of boards constructed in the late 60’s and through out the 70’s. This together with a new clothing culture has seen the emergence of contests where the competitors assemble to compare “Retro Boards” tell stories and generally have a good time. Most competitors compete with a exhibitionists aplomb rather than to a set criteria aimed at finding a winner.
For 2007, Thursday 10th has been set aside to allow for surfers to compete on boards constructed prior to1981 and will feature 3 divisions of surfing.
