Golden Breed RETRO 'Ride em All'
In recent years there has been a huge resurgence in the surfing of boards constructed in the late 60’s and through out the 70’s. With boards from this era being radically experimental with single fins and twinnies becoming radically short, surfers became involved in developing a whole new frontier. This together with a new clothing culture has seen the emergence of contests where the competitors assemble to compare “Retro Boards” tell stories and generally have a good time. Most competitors compete with a exhibitionists aplomb rather than to a set criteria aimed at finding a winner.
For 2008, Wednesday 23rd has been set aside to allow for surfers to compete on boards constructed prior to1981 and will feature 2 divisions of surfing. These divisions also allow amateur and professional competitors the opportunity to compete against each other in a fun environment.
Competitors may be drawn into a heat of single finned or twin finned equipment. A selection of boards will be supplied for competitors to choose from to ensure they have the right board for their heat.
